Why did you want to become involved with Salford City Radio?
Having lived in Salford for the last 20 years of my life, I wanted to be involved in the community in some way.
Upon hearing about SCR, I jumped at the chance of involvement. It is my aim to bring another dimension
to the studio, delivering new music from local bands, mixed with current and classic indie
How has volunteering with Salford City Radio changed your life?
Working at Salford City Radio has been a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Not only has it provided me
with a fantastic opportunity to develop my presenting and technical skills, it has enabled me to deliver something back to the Salford community. Another fantastic advantage is being part of a dedicated team who strive to create great output on a daily basis. I've met people through working at Salford City Radio who will remain friends with me for a very long time.
What does your show bring to the people of Salford?
It delivers discussion on an array of topics, from current news stories to any entertaining situation which I may find myself in each week. I aim to infuse a real sense of personality into my show, making it reflective of who I am. The crux of the show is entertainment as I recount stories and situations for the amusement of the listeners. I also provide details of upcoming comedy events in Salford.
Who would you interview if you could choose absolutely anybody, and what would you ask?
If I had to pick someone it would be Morissey. I would probably enquire about his career and interests. Id also ask him what he's got on his iPod and what his favourite flavour of crisps are just to liven it up a bit.
What's the best thing that's ever happened to you?
From an academic perspective I'd say finishing my 2nd year at Uni, but I'm also proud of having my own radio show and Podcast.
(Webmaster: "What? How come 'presenting with Chris Brophy' didn't appear in that sentence? It's a disgrace!")
How would you describe your show?
My show focuses on the week's major news and entertainment stories, real-life situations and the latest from
the world of comedy in Salford. I attempt to make the show informative yet funny, through detailed description,
in-depth analysis and a healthy dose of sarcasm. My show with Chris Brophy includes wind up calls,
comedy sketches and often heated debates.
